Well, it has finally happened. I finally had my first official photo shoot, and it was an absolute BLAST! It was a family session with Susie and her son, Michael. Susie is an old high school friend of my husband's... and she has since become a friend of mine, as well. Susie lives up north, but came down to visit people in the area just before the Thanksgiving holiday. So we scrambled to set something up.
We set up the session for a Tuesday afternoon. I had just planned on leaving work a bit early that day. However, what I hadn't planned on was getting sick the day before. But...the show must go on. I was feeling well enough by the time that Tuesday afternoon rolled around, so I went ahead with it. I was exhausted afterwards, but it was so incredibly worth it!!! We had a blast.
We started out at the Lab in Costa Mesa, which is a kind of outdoor (anti) mall, for the artsy types. Then we took a drive down to Balboa Beach and finished up there. Both Susie and Michael even braved the brisk November waters, all for the sake of getting the perfect shot!
You can see even more of these images on my photography blog (www.theSuitcaseStudioBlog.com), but here are just a few samplings of my favorites from the day:
and yes... this really IS a smashed car up on the wall:
